Hello, we hope you have been enjoying all the festivities as we draw ever closer to Christmas!  It’s been a very busy but exciting term!

 
Looking Back …

 Hopefully, you had a chance to join us at the Fireworks Spectacular last month. Thankfully, we were blessed with the best weather conditions we’ve had in many years which no doubt helped us to have record numbers and make our
best ever profit – a whopping £6,000!
 
We hope you also managed to get along to the Christmas Bazaar and visit Santa in his amazing grotto last Saturday.  This was also a successful and well attended event, raising around £1,300 for the school, thanks to your generous donations and help.
 
Thank you if you helped with or supported either event in any way.

The children also enjoyed Beauty and the Beast and their Christmas parties while many parents have delighted in the wonders of KS1’s nativity, ‘A Present for the Baby’. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who worked hard to make these occasions special for all involved, and well done children – you did yourselves and us parents very proud!  Thanks also to Jon Shaw for producing a DVD of the nativity so we carry on enjoying it!
                                                                                

Coming Up ….

Thanks to a really positive start to year 2011/12, we are now in a position to make some exciting additions to the play area this spring,
including repairs and reinforcements to the very popular and well-worn mound, plus a tyre snake, stepping stones, willow dome and hoggin path.  This will cost the PTA around £7,200 but will further enhance the children’s outdoor play.  Work is due to start in January.

We will also be funding some exciting additions in the classrooms too, including Mathletics – a fun and exciting online maths resource which all the children will have access to both in school and at home.  Please refer to your School Newsletter dated 1 December for more details.

 
Forthcoming Events  

We plan to run the following events so please make a note in your 2012 diary!

Parents/Carers’ Coffee Morning: Thursday 19th January, 9am – All are welcome and, if you would like to contribute a cake or biscuits these would be gratefully received!  Any voluntary cash donations made on the day will go into the PTA ‘pot’ to help
fund future resources. 

Children’s Disco: Friday 2 March (tbc) - KS1: 5.30-6.30pm; KS2: 6.45-8pm.  Details to follow.

Summer Fete: Saturday 16 June - An exciting addition for 2012!  We have decided to focus our time, efforts and energy on one big summer event.  More details will follow nearer the time. 

Disco, coffee morning and AGM are all due in September.   Dates to follow.

Fireworks Spectacular: Friday 2 November – Details to follow in the autumn term. [Please note that dates since published by the school for 2012/13 show this date as being during 'October' half-term therefore this will need to be moved back to 9 November.]

Christmas Bazaar: December – date tbc once ITFC’s home fixtures are known.
